Oh my gosh, where has the month of May gone so quickly?  I have been in a creative fog lately. Not that I'm such a fantastic creator but I do think my muse has taken a nap.  Stampin Up's new catalog debutes tomorrow so I've been busy clearing out the old to make way for the new leaving little time to create. I did manage to get my whole house cleaned, yeah !!.That  made me feel better. It's just my hubby and me but, I am constantly amazed at the amount of dust that can accumulate even when the windows are shut and the air turned on. Now if he would only stop needing to be fed on a regular basis I'd be in good shape. As I have gotten older I don't like to cook any more. It's truly become a "chore".

At the end of June, I will be traveling back to my old home town for my 50th, yes that's right 50th high school reunion. Didn't my parents just celebrate their 50th ? How in the world did I get to be this old? I do thank God for this opportunity and I do  have pretty good health so there are a lot of reasons to be thankful. I never fathomed  I'd live this long -- would I have done things differently ? -- probably not, who ever listened to all those old "tales" anyway ?. Now I find myself telling the children and grandchildren those "tales" about growing older. I think you  have to find your way through this aging process all alone ( with a little help from your friends) and try to enjoy the ride along the way remembering to be thankful  for each and every day.

Boy do I feel philosophical today. I did make a card I'd like to share. I recently received my July issue of CardMaker magazine and they had an article on Medallions. I'd never really tried making any before so decided to give it a shot. Here we go.......

I used all Stampin Up products. Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, and DS Summer Smooches  Card Stock. Buttons are from the Brights collection and Daffodil Delight grosgrain ribbon.

I punched the leaves from the Blossom Petals Builder Punch then ran them through a crimper. The edges of the flowers are punched with the Scallop Punch and the little flower at the top with the  Pinking Hearts Border punch, unfortunately now retired. The sentiment is also from a retired  Hostess set,  Happiest Birthday wishes. The companion verse is on the inside that I kept very simple using the Tangerine and Whisper White CS along with a Spellbinders Die.

I had a lot of fun with these Medallions and have a card for the 4th in mind. If I get it done I will post it here for you to see.

It  also occurred to me, I mentioned the Scrapbooking class I had at a local library, some time ago. I think I said I'd post those pages. Well I finally got them into my pictures so here they are for you to take a look at if you have the time.

We had a fun time and all the ladies enjoyed completing their pages. Thanks for looking as always I value all your comments. See ya next time.
Hugs , Lynn

Hello again,

I can't believe it I have played again today. I will have to clean this house one day but today was not that day. Tomorrow I have to take my youngest granddaughter and 5 other 13 year olds to Orlando for a singing workshop. Now taking them isn't so bad but it's at 6:45 AM ! I have to meet them at her school which is about a 40 minute drive from where I live. UGH ! They will get done about 11:00 am then home and maybe a little nap in the afternoon. I really don't mind, I know that one day very soon, she will have out grown the need for me. I can already see it happening. It's as it should be and watching all of them grow into beautiful young ladies and one young man has been the highlight of my life. I do love them so and have enjoyed each and every stage they have all gone through. But enough about my life. .
Here is my new card, made with Magnolia's Water Lily Tilda. She is so adorable.

I used SU card stock, Island Indigo,Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White and the DS is from my stash. It's really pretty but after I finished I've covered the whole piece up. Guess I should have cut it bigger.I used Spellbinders. Labels 11, Memory Box Honeysuckle Vine dies.(I thought the Honeysuckle looked a bit like sea weed.) SU Word Window and Modern Label punches along with Creative Memories corner rounder punch. I guess you can see that I am an equal company addict. My sentiment is also SU's Teeny Tiny Wishes.
Here is a picture of Tilda close up:

Here are the Copics I used to  color her: E-000,00,11,17,35,31, BG-11 & 32, C-1, R-00,39,83,89
VG-63 and Y-17. I'm trying to work on my shading but it is a lot harder than one would think. I even tried to draw my sun lines on a copy but I don't think it helped me much. They say practice makes perfect, well I doubt I'll ever get perfect but I will certainly keep practicing. I am thinking I should enter one of the challenges I see posted everywhere but I'm not sure just how to go about getting the finished product posted correctly. I'm still trying to get brave enough to gussy up this blog. It's ok but I see all of yours and they are really so cute and I want one of them... Well, I guess I better stop blogging and spend some time with my hubby. I've been holed up in this craft room most of the day.
I hope you all have a wonderful week end, and Thank you so much for visiting and leaving me a comment.

Good evening lovely ladies,

I have finished my last meeting and have managed to get into my craft room and actually create some cards. I should probably have been cleaning the house but when the muse wants some time you just have to go with her. Cleaning the house or playing with my Maggies....no contest Maggie wins every time.

I wanted to create a Fathers Day card using Edwin with airplane. It's hard not using flowers and all that frilly stuff we all seem to have on hand. So I settled on some black and white paper I've had forever. Let me know what you think. I used SU papers Basic Black, Real Red, whisper White. The DS is also SU I probably got sometime last year. I used Spellbinders Deckle Edge dies and MFT's Cloud. The Copics used were E-ooo,E-oo, E-11, E-35,E-55,Y-08,R-46,N-6,T-1&3,C-1&2. I used Crystal Lacquer on the airplane and popped up Edwin and the cloud. I like how it turned out, do you think it looks like a guy card ? Let me know.

Not wanting Mom to be left out, I made Mothers Day card with baby Tilda.

This is not a card design that I usually end up with...I tried to use some of the Memory box dies. It was fun making her, she is growing on me.When the card is closed the happy Mothers Day Sentiment is easily visable but it didn't show up so well in the picture. So for this card I again used SU chocolate Chip,Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, and In Color DS pattern book card stock. Marth Stewart eyelet border punch, SU framelits, hearts, Memory Box Serafina Heart, A Flourish die ( can't remember whose it is),SU Butterfly embosslits,pop-ups and pearls from my stash. Copics used were E-000,00,11 & 31, YR-20,21,24,R-81,83, & 85. Her pacifier is colored with SU markers, Rich Raspberry & Pear Pizzazz. Both sentiments are from SU's Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

That's it for today. Hope you enjoy looking. I enjoy all of your comments very much. Thank you all for taking time to have a look. See ya later.

Good morning everyone,
It's  been another beautiful morning here in Plant City, Florida again. All my committee's are just about wrapped up. I only have a couple left, hooray. My new Maggie stamps will be arriving soon along with the #3 book and I can begin to immerse myself into creating. My muse has been chomping at the bit for days now. Probably when I get around to unleashing her she will run and hide. She can be a bit cantankerous at times, not unlike the real me.
My oldest granddaughter is returning to Florida from college at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana this week end. It will be so wonderful having her home for the summer. I can't believe she is finishing up her first year in college. It has been an amazing adventure watching her grow and mature over this past year. In my heart she is still that precocious 4 year old running around everywhere. I'm afraid my position of  playing such an important part in here life has been rearranged. Although still important to her, my position of importance has changed and rightly so. It brings a tear to my eyes and a lump to my throat but I am so very proud of her and her accomplishments. I'm not sure I had her courage and determination at her age. Her parents, my daughter and son-in-law have done a wonderful job raising such a fine young woman. I am very proud of them too. I have two more grandchildren hot on her heals as they have recently turned 16 and college is knocking on their doors. The two youngest will be 13 this summer. Things have really changed for my husband and I these past few years. fortunately we live close to all of them and see them on a somewhat regular schedule. the house still vibrates with excitement over the Christmas holidays and that fills my heart with so much joy.
Well, I think I have waxed and waned enough for this fine morning. And speaking of Christmas, I want to share with you one of the Christmas cards I sent out this past Christmas.

SILENT NIGHT TILDA

Whoa, I figured out how to make her bigger. . . probably to big now, right?
I used SU Always Artichoke cardstock and some DS I had in my stash. I colored her with Copics and SU markers. It was a long time ago before I was brave enough to start this blog so keeping track of the colors was not on my radar. The  twig with bird and brid house is a  Great Impressions stamp I've had forever and never inked until here. She turned out pretty good. This is probably actually my very first Tilda. Let me know what you think.  Thanks.

Hi Ladies,

I hope your day has been a good one. Mine has been pretty good. This morning I enjoyed my coffee on the lanai and was serenaded by the birds and entertained by the squirrels. The weather was cool and it was wonderful. Saturday I held a Scrapbook class at a local library where  I teach LifeStory Writing. The theme for the pages was Heritage. I think the people who attended were happy with the results. I have not taken any pictures of those pages yet but will try to get them posted  here in the next few days.

I do have another card  to share with you, it's done with all Stampin Up products. I used the Bordering on Romance stamp set from the Occassions Mini that unfortunately expires tonight but I know you talented ladies are good at adapting to the stash of stamps you all own. Enjoy.

Bordering on Romance

Here is what I used: Elegant Eggplant, Pear Pizzazz, Whisper white card stock inks and markers. I also used the SU Stripes embossing folder and the Framelits, Labels collection and added some rhinestones from my stash. I like how it turned out. Boy, I must be on a purple kick this Spring my Tilda with Daisy was also done on purple, hum ---  Thanks for looking, I'll see you again soon.

I'm back, I must admit, I have not been a good blogger. I have been so busy wrapping up a ton of year end committee things that Ive been involved in this year. I must admit, I am glad things are winding down. My heart has been here with my card making and I hate that I have neglected it for so long. As I preiously stated I am a Stampin Up demo but I am only active with a group of girls who enjoy getting together and making cards. They are even wondering what happened to me.

I did manage to make a couple cards here is Tilda w/blue blanket.

I had so much fun with her I couldn't wait to use that Memory Box  Madison Window die. It's the small one. My picture isn't very large. I have to get with the program when I take these photos. She was taken with my phone. why, I don't know I have a great camera I should be using it. I promise to start keeping track of the things I use when I do these cards too.

I used SU Pink Pirouette, celery green and one of their DS papers. The fence is MFT's picket fence and the tulips are from Magnolia's tulip walkway stamp. I just cut them out and popped them up for depth. I did use Copic markers but have no idea which ones. Sorry.

Here is my other card. . .                Princess of the Valley Tilda

Again I just had to use that Madison window from Memory Box along with the  Memory Box Flower box  and Wildflorwe patch dies too. My paper is Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzaz,Island Indigo DS. Tilda is sitting on the soccer bench oh and both cards have the MS grass punch.  The curtain in the window is actually a ribbon that I gathered for a more realistic curtain. the flowers are from my stash and of course my copics. She was also taken with my phone. I'll use my camera from now on.

So that's where I've been and hopefully you'll see some more of me. Thank  you all for stopping by and leaving such wonderful comments. See ya soon.

Well, I cannot believe it but I am in here again today. Hopefully this time I can execute a successful entry. I had a very frustrating few days with this blog. Yesterday, my daughter offered to help me because the day before I was completely locked out and unable to do anything. I go to her house and wonder of wonders I'm able to sign in and even change my background but didn't have time to do anything else. I get up this morning and was suprised to find I was in and started blogging. Then I prepare to add a card, wouldn't you know it the whole darn computer locked up and I was again locked out. I never attempted to log in again. I had a friend over and we played with all out Maggie stamps. Great day lots of fun.

I belong to a Beta Sigma Phi Sorority chapter and one of my sisters is becoming a first time grandmother. We had a shower for her and this is the card I made.

I used SU Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink paper. Spellbinders large Classic scalloped circles, a couple SU circle punches , MS eyelet punch with Memory box polka dotted paper, and the brads are from my stash. It turned out pretty cute.  Now, I think I will attempt to launch this post to see if I can be successful and then I'll work on one of the cards I did today.

Bye for now . . . . wish me luck !!
